Alfred Morris 46 is the Redskins 426 Hemi

Alfred Morris that's right...number 46 ,is like a
426 Hemi in the Redskins muscle car of an offense. RG3 at QB is like adding jet fuel and some nitrous to the mix. Today in
a trap road game, Morris churned out tough yards with the Redskins other rookie QB Kirk Cousins at the helm.
Cousins rebounded from an early interception, with a phenomenal first
start posting big time numbers. Cousins
had a 70.3 completion percentage, completing 26 of 37 for 329 yds and a QB rating of 104.4. The Browns game plan was to stack against the run and make
Cousins beat them with the throw. This game really showed the growth of the Redskins as a team. The Redskins made offensive and defensive adjustments as the game went on. For example when Cleveland keyed on the run Kyle called up
the right throws and Kirk executed. On defense, when Trent Richardson had early success the Redskins defense absolutely stymied him. Richardson ended up with 11 rushes for 28 yards, although he scored two touchdowns he was effectively neutralized. Leonard Hankerson , Josh Morgan, Pierre Garçon,
and the wily Santana Moss, along with the speedster Aldrick Robinson have become
a dangerous receiving core. The defense
led by London Fletcher who had his fourth interception today, have continued to improve. Jim Haslett deserves a lot of credit for a defense that has suffered huge injuries, penalties, and suspensions. The Redskins have been able to adjust, especially after halftime this is a stark contrast from last year. The much maligned Shanahans, both head coach Mike and his son offensive coordinator Kyle have made many early season detractors look
foolish. Many if not all pre season prognosticators
picked the Redskins to finish last in the division. Some high profile experts had the Redskins winning but three games this season. The Shanahans have changed the culture, and the attitude and have built through the draft. Even while taking considerable criticism from the self avowed know it all media cesspool that
rules the beltway. Hail Redskins! A new era of Redskins football, RG3 triple option pistol mixed with Shanahan's west coast
has fans ready to get back on "the bandwagon".With two weeks left in the season the Redskins have the lead in the NFC East, the highest rated QB in football, and the number 1 rookie running back in the NFL "the Hemi", Alfred Morris.

Alfred Morris closes on Redskins Record

With just three games to play Alfred Morris is closing on the Redskins single season rushing record of 1516 yards, set
by Clinton Portis. Morris currently has
1228 rushing yards in thirteen games averaging 94 yards per game. Morris
is on pace to rush for 1511 yards at his
season average. Since the bye week Morris has averaged 109 yds a game,
if Morris performs at this level he will
smash the Redskins single season rushing
record.

NFL officials collected Robert Griffin III's
jersey and cleats for the hall of fame on Wed Dec,4th. RG3
has gained 714 yds rushing ,while also becoming the first rookie qb rb tandem
to throw for 2000 and rush for 1000!
RG3 achieved the milestone mark with fellow rookie rb Alfred Morris in
an electrifying performance on Monday
Night Football, over the reigning Super Bowl Champion NY Giants. The suddenly
surging Redskins led by RG3 have in succession beaten division rivals Eagles, Cowboys, and Giants. The stunning turnaround has the Redskins just a game behind the Giants, but with a tiebreaker edge should the Giants stumble.

RG3 Feasts on Dallas!

RG3's rookie records are piling up
so fast, it is hard to keep track of all
his rookie accomplishments. Just four days after beating the Philadelphia Eagles
31-6 ,the Redskins marched into Dallas
and did what they never had done on Thanksgiving, beat Dallas 38-28! RG3 threw 4 touchdowns with a perfect QB rating of158.3 (first time a rookie had a perfect rating)to beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
Four days later the Redskin Rookie
threw four more touchdowns, first time
a rookie had thrown 4 touchdowns in
back to back games. At halftime of the
Redskins game on Thanksgiving against
the Dallas Cowboys, the Redskins led
28-3. Jimmy Johnson former two time Super Bowl Champion coach of the Cowboys and member of the Fox NFL Sunday Crew, called RG3 "most valuable player in the National Football League."
Some RG3 stat categories to note are:
completion percentage 67.5 tied for third,
QB rating 104.6 fourth in NFL, yards per pass attempt NFL number 1 at 8.2, passes completed over 25 yards NFL
number one with 10, interception percentage second lowest 1.3 percent,
and total offense sixth with 2979! This is but a sampling but the eyeball test is much more impressive than the numbers.
His electrifying play has many fans and former players alike touting the rookie phenom as a possible league MVP.

RG3 Sets Record QB Rating

RG3's single game QB perfect rating of
158.3 is best ever for a rookie, and can never be broken. This NFL week 11 performance was another stellar performance for the rookie, and should put him ahead in rookie of the year consideration .

End of Andy Reid?

RG3 and the Washington Redskins may
have just ended Andy Reid's tenure
in Philly with 31-6 victory! RG3 had
a Redskin record QB rating of 158.3,
throwing four touchdowns. RG3 led
the Skins in rushing on 12 attempts for
84 yards averaging seven yards a carry.
One of RG3's touchdown receptions was
a 61 yard bomb to Santana Moss, which
Was his seventh touchdown of the
season. This pass was RG3's third touchdown pass of 60 yards or more,
the most since Mark Rypien's 4 of 60 yards or more in a season (1991). In addition Moss now has 7 touchdowns of 60+ yards besting Gary Clark's 6. With
this effort RG3 improved his QB rating
from 93.9 to 100, and his completion
percentage from 65.6 to 68.3 which puts him ahead of Rothlisberger's rookie record 66 percent. RG3's only incompletion of the day came on a
deflection.

Semi-Pro Golfer Tony Romo Misses Cut Against Giants

Tony Romo threw for 437 yards and four interceptions in a loss Sunday to the New York Giants at Cowboys Stadium. Tony Romo now leads all quarterbacks for interceptions with 13 through week 8. This game was a perfect microcosm of Romo's career with the Cowboys and the team itself as a whole. Romo and the Cowboys have flashed brilliance on many occasions, but they have come up short time and again in the big moment. After falling behind by 23-0 the Cowboys fought back to lead by one 24-23 in the fourth quarter. Eli and the Giants took back the lead with a field goal to make it 26-23 Giants. With the game on the line, Romo forced a pass into a tight window while being pursued by three Giants. Romo's pass was intercepted by Safety Stevie Brown, this should have been the end for the Cowboys, however the Cowboys D got a stop with less than a minute to go, to give Romo one more shot .With a circus catch by Dez Bryant that was called out of bounds by an inch the Cowboys lost 29-24.Why does this Cowboy team fail? To properly assess the Dallas Cowboys and why they fail in an epic way, one has to look no further than owner and GM Jerry Jones. Jones and his Joker-like mask of a face-lift serve as a reminder of his bad judgement, and hilarious" Phyllis Diller"moniker (slapped on him by Jimmy Johnson). His team has become a reflection of himself, with a Quarterback who seems more worried about celebrities and being in celebrity golf events than doing the hard offseason work it takes to be a champion. This behavior of Romo's is reminiscent me of Jones and his incredible narcissism. This guy who owns the most valuable sports team in the United States valued at 2.1 billion dollars, has to constantly insert his Joker face on numerous tv commercials. Jones has assembled many talented pieces, but many are flashy stat mongers who, like Jones selfishly work for their own glory.
Jones fired the architect of the great Cowboy team that won three Super Bowls in the nineties Jimmy Johnson,
basically because Jones could not get
full controll and credit with Johnson
running the show.In retrospect maybe this was one of the reasons Jones fired one of the most beloved coaches ever Tom Landry when he took ownership of the team. Landry was a gentleman and a professional the antithesis of Darth Jones he had class. If you don't think character matters, you go after guys like Dez Bryant , Pac Man Jones, and Terrell Owens. Bryant was given a security detail and special rules this season to keep him out of strip clubs and trouble with the police. Former Cowboy Pac Man Jones entourage was responsible for paralyzing a bouncer at a "Gentlemen's Club"
after an incident where Jones became angry at a stripper who he punched in the face.
With Jerry Jones appearing in numerous tv commercials and series such as HBO's Entourage, Diet Pepsi Max, Papa John's, and ESPN's Monday Night Football just to name a few. It's very clear Jones wants to be the face of the franchise, maybe he should rename the Cowboys the Joneses.

RG3 is in the top ten in no fewer than
13 stat categories, he is número uno
in 4 of these.

Despite loss RG3 shines

At Met Life Stadium today the Washington Redskins lost to the New York Giants. Despite the loss,as a Redskins fan I could not be more pleased with the rookie phenom RG3.
Although making the playoffs this year
is probably not going to happen, RG3
will put the Redskins in contention for
years to come. With the weakness of the Redskins defensive backs and their inability to stop the passing game it is
wishfull thinking to expect the Skins to make the playoffs this year. Having said that I am almost in disbelief of what RG3 is doing on the field. After seven games RG3 continues to better his eye popping numbers. Improving his league leading completion percentage up from 70.2 to 70.4. RG3's passing efficiency is also reflected in his quarterback rating
which after seven games improved from 100.5 to 101.7 for the year, trailing only Aaron Rodgers (105.4)
and Peyton Manning (105). RG3 also added 89 yards on just 9 carries which gives him a total of 468 yards on just 64 carries for a 7.3 ave. This was achieved by completing 20 of 28 passes for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns. These numbers keep getting better every week as RG3 continues a rookie season for the ages.

East Coast Offense

When asked by columnist Rick Reilly for a name for the offense the Redskins are running now Shanahan said, "call it the East Coast Offense".
RG3's unique skill set have allowed the offense to run a diverse mixture of looks such as the triple-option, zone read option, the pistol, traditional, and wishbone. It remains to be seen what
other looks could be revealed in this evolving high octane offense, that has
gained the third highest yard total and second most points.

The 4-2 New York Giants are favored by 6.5 pts over the 3-3 Washington Redskins at MetLife Stadium in the 1 pm Sunday game. This division matchup against the defending Super Bowl champion Giants, arguably the best team in football is an excellent
early gauge for the surprising Redskins.

According to Rich Tandler's "Historic firsts becoming routine for RG3".

the AP Pro 32 power rankings to number 13.

Is a stat he found that showed deferring teams win 60 per cent of the time. Keep those stats to yourself coach we don't need an explanation.

RG3 scores on 76 yard td run

Today in Landover Md, at Fed Ex Field
The Washington Redskins ended an eight game home losing streak. This win seemed like something much bigger for the Redskins, this win felt like the beginning of something great. RG3 was electrifying ,especially on a 3rd and 6 in the fourth quarter
when RG3 ran for 76 yards on a designed run play that resulted in a td that thrilled Fed Ex Redskins fans.
This was the longest run by a qb since
Kordel Stewart's 80 yd td in 1996!
Through six games RG3 leads all quarterbacks in the NFL in rushing
touchdowns with six! RG3 also has the second highest qb rating at 100.5
Only Peyton Manning's 101 is higher.
RG3 owns the highest completion percentage in the league at 70.2 ,this stat is one that is a sign of future greatness for RG3. The highest completion percentages are usually found in top tier quarterbacks, this shows RG3's passing accuracy and good decision making. Rg3's 70.2 completion percentage extrapolated out through 16 games will smash Rothlisberger's rookie record of 66.4 per cent! Through six games RG3's 379 yds rushing has him on pace to break Cam Newton's rookie record of 706 yds rushing. RG3 also has a good chance to break Cam's rookie record of 14 rushing touchdowns.

Thursday, October 11, 2012

RG3 is second to Arian Foster on rushing TD list with 4.
RG3 is sixth in the NFL, tied with Peyton Manning with 101 passer rating.

Will RG3 become greatest Redskins Qb?

RG3 will become the greatest Redskin Qb of all time...,it's only a matter of time!
The Redskins must now make protection of their QB priority one. The next
priority must be adding offensive weapons as the defense was a priority in
2011. I believe these tactics may deliver the Washington Redskins a high
flying offense that will rewrite the record books. There is a very important
statistic in college and pro football that can help in gleaning insight into the
capabilities of a qb. If we look closely at completion percentage between
college and pro quarterbacks,we will often see
only small differences in deviation of these numbers from college to pro.
Completion Percentage     College        Pro
Peyton Manning                  62.85         64.9
Donovan McNabb              58.4           59.0

Cry Baby McNabb

The former Eagle,Redskin, and Vikings Qb put up huge numbers in his thirteen year career. Throwing for 37,276 yds and 234 tds, while rushing for 3459 yds
and 29 tds! These numbers may be huge but they do not tell the whole story of the flawed McNabb who failed to live up to his full potential. Lack of work ethic plagued McNabb throughout his career and eventually
coupled with his physical decline led to
him being traded to the Redskins. Part
of the case against McNabb going to
The Hall of Fame has been well illustrated by his quick dismissal from
the Redskins and Vikings. McNabb has been working hard at further tarnishing his legacy in recent days. He has come off as a petty guy with an axe to grind in his scathing remarks bashing both Shannahans and the Redskins organization. From the perspective of this Redskin fan McNabb has been a
big disappointment. The Redskins gave up a high second round draft pick in 2010 and a fourth round pick in 2011.
McNabb was given a chance to excell
but refused to put in the time and effort. He also felt he was too good to be taught anything and refused to wear a wrist band with the plays listed. At one point in the season McNabb even tried to paint Shannahan as a rascist.
As a fan it is very frustrating to see
a player with McNabb's potential get paid a huge contract only to have him fail and then blame everyone but himself. In the 2010 regular season as Qb for the Redskins McNabb's completion percentage was a paltry
58 percent.Throwing more interceptions 15 than touchdowns 14 McNabb was ironically pacing to break the Redskin record for passing yds in a sesaon when he was benched. The Redskins were vindicated however in their decision to bench McNabb when the Vikings similarly benched him in 2011 as well. After six games the Vikings led by McNabb were 1-5 and ready to let Christian Ponder get some experience
as their future Qb. The more that McNabb snipes at the Redskins the worse he looks and the closer his record will be scrutinized.

NFL Tries to muscle Redskins

Is it just a coincidence, or is this threat from the NFL Commisioner Rodger Goodell a coordinated attack warning against the Redskins taking further legal action against cap penalties?
When articles about the Redskins former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams started coming out weeks ago. It was widely reported that the Redskins had been cleared. However after the Redskins joined the Cowboys in arbitration against the league suddenly Goodell is investigating the Redskins again. Goodell should start his investigation by calling up his former boss Paul Tagliabue who was in attendance for the infamous Bounty Bowl II Dec 10 1989. This was the second meeting between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles in 1989. In the first Bounty Bowl the Eagles put a 200 dollar bounty on Cowboys kicker former Eagle Luis Zendejas. In that game which Zendejas left with a concussion Cowboys lost 27-0. The Eagles head coach who implemented this bounty system hired Gregg Williams as his defensive coordinator in 1990. So why stop at punishing the Redskins? Why not punish the Eagles and the NFL Commissioner should punish itself as well since the NFL has been aware of this for over twenty years. CBS Sports hyped the game even televising wanted posters for players with
bounties listed.

Josh Morgan

The Redskins signed Josh Morgan on
March 14. Drafted in 2008 by the 49ers the former VaTech receiver was regarded as a boom or bust type player. Morgan
the 6th round local product hailing from H.D. Woodson High School in DC grew up rooting
for the Redskins. Morgan is a receiver
who looked to be on the verge when
he suffered a broken leg 5 games into the season. Listed at 6' 219 lbs Morgan has worked hard on his speed
and stamina with former 49ers teammate superstar Vernon Davis.
Morgan and Davis worked out together
with a trainer who put together grueling
sprint workouts to improve their game
speed. Morgan is an addition that could give the Redskins an option
that can along with new addition receiver Pierre Garcon stretch the
field and take it the distance on any
play.

2012 NFL Draft 33 days counting down!

Thirty Does DC Dirty

Well paid ingrate Laron Landry trash talked the Redskin organization on his way out of town, and made negative remarks about new Redskin safety Brandon Merriweather.
The Redskins used their number one pick in the 2007 draft and Laron Landry was given a generous 41 and a half million dollars for a five year contract. In 2010
Laron only played in ten games , then in 2011 he only played in 8 games due to his nagging Achilles injury. The Redskins were forced to go in another direction after it became apparent that
Dirty 30 which is Landry's nickname given by teammates refused to have the tendon surgically repaired. It may have been a different story if Sean Taylor had not been tragically murdered in his own home by some bungling thieves.
Left intact the infamous area 51 (the addition of Taylor's 21 and Landry's 30 )could have been a dominant safety duo for years. After Sean Taylor's death Laron was moved from strong safety to Taylor's free safety position.
Although Landry is a great athlete he
clearly was not great in coverage against receivers. Landry often was out
of position and frequently missed on tackles while launching himself like a missile trying to knock people out for the instant gratification of highlight oohs and ahs. In an age where the NFL is penalizing players for leading with the helmet just the dumb nickname "Dirty Thirty"should have been a big red flag indicating lack of character. The fans nor the Redskins deserve to be trash talked by the wanna be bodybuilder.
This guy was an immature person that was more worried about beating Clinton Portis in a sprint outside of practice, than taking the necessary steps to stay on the field. Hope you can start more than eight games next year for The Jets. You were a disappointment for this Redskin fan.
It's funny to me that Brandon Merriweather managed to make two more tackles than Laron in the same time period and had 12 interceptions
to Landry's 4.

Pierre Garçon

Pierre Garçon is a receiver who may well be on his way to becoming an elite playmaker. Even without a Qb last year he managed to snag 70 balls! Had
Peyton played last year there is no reason to think 100 catches was out of the question. The 6ft 210lbs Garçon
is a winner of consecutive DivisionIII
National Championship Mount Union
teams. Garçon is a very fast receiver,
although only 4.48 speed in the 40. His speed off the line shows. He is able to get off the line quickly ,and consistently gets open.
I'm sure the Colts 2008 6th rounder had been on Shannahan's radar for a long time. In my mind Garçon's one handed grab during the 2010 season right in front of Laron Landry's hard charging knockout whiff, cemented Garçon as a playmaker. In that game he burned the Redskins for over a hundred yards.

Focusing in on RG3

RG3 amazing 2011 stats

RG3 2011 passer rating 189.5
Passing attempts 402
Completions 291
Pct. 72.4
Passing yds 4293
Yds average 10.7
Long 87
TD 37
Int 6
Sack 27

RG3 vs Luck

As a lifetime fan of the Redskins I was both elated and amazed by RG3 and the up tempo Qb show that his pro day
was. At one point when the camera panned toward Mike Shannahan, it appeared to me that although poker faced Shanny tried to act, he had to gnaw at his hand to keep from
breaking into a big grin. It became very apparent, transparent that Shannahan the acknowledged quarterback guru
was thinking please, please let Luck
Go number 1! RG3 zipped his passes
all over the field with laser like accuracy and flow that was quite electric. The speed of his rollouts, his footwork, and his overall throwing mechanics are flawless. Even at a sprint when he releases the ball his
throwing technique is textbook perfect.
As a fan of the Washington Redskins
I have never been more excited about
a prospect. The last franchise type Quarterback the Skins had running the offense was Joe Theisman who's career was prematurely ended, by Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor in 1985! This Baylor program in my opinion with its terrible defense was
able to beat powerhouse Oklahoma the preseason number 1 , because of what RG3 can do. Baylor was able to beat an OKlahoma team that has great athletes all over the field. This should be an eye opener, as Baylor
had never beaten Oklahoma, and
had not been to a bowl game since 1992! Yesterday was a great day for Redskin fans because Luck had a great Pro day, The
"Suck for Luck" plan secretly was
engaged as soon as the Colt organization realized Peyton was not
going to play. Colt's organization made a shrewd decision to put in place a player that many believe is the most can't lose
prospect since 1998 when Peyton was
drafted the number one overall. I think Luck will be a great player but in watching
both players what can Luck do, that RG3 is not able to trump? Let's compare RG3 worlds class speed vs
Luck nice mobility for a large Qb. RG3
40 combine 4.41 official vs Luck 40 of 4.59. RG3 bested Luck in major statistical categories throwing the football and was able to win the
Heisman Trophy. RG3 graduated in three years with a real degree and is working on a masters. Coming out of a military family background he seems
to have the intangibles, work ethic, and attitude that will help him fully develop
his potential at the next level. I love this move and will hold my breath until draft day. One last note on RG3 arm throwing motion is much better than Luck's arm motion. Luck has a release motion that is a little sideways across
his body.
